Stop retyping orders at six in the morning.
BlockWorks takes your trade orders however they arrive (WhatsApp, email, voice note, phone or online) and prices each one at that customer's own prices. Then it carries the order through cutting, packing, delivery and invoicing. It was built in a working butcher's shop.
- No contract
- Your customers keep ordering their way
- Runs on the phones and computers you already have
- Works with Xero and Sage 50
Hi, for Thursday please: 12 x 10oz sirloin, 5kg mince, 2 whole chickens. Cheers
21:40| Sirloin steak 10oz × 12 | £74.40 |
| Beef mince × 5kg | £37.50 |
| Whole chicken × 2About 3.6kg: billed at the weight you pack | ~£15.12 |
Your customers don't change how they order. You stop retyping it.
Chefs send a WhatsApp at eleven at night, forward last week's list, or leave a voice note on the way in. Every order lands in one inbox and becomes a draft at that customer's prices, for you to check and confirm in one click.
Customers message your own WhatsApp ordering number, which we set up for you. You can also forward a message from your own phone.
Typed, forwarded, or sent as a PDF, a photo of a list or a CSV file. Matched to the customer by the address it came from.
Voice note
You get the recording and a written draft beside it, so you check a list rather than write one.
Typed or pasted
"12 ribeye 10oz, 5kg mince, 2 boxes wings", written the way a chef writes it, read into proper lines.
Your own ordering site
For customers who like ordering online: your range, their prices, their usuals and a reorder button, on your own web address.
Over the phone
Some will always ring. Type it straight onto the order pad while they talk: same screen, same paperwork.
Excel and Word files can't be read yet. A PDF, a photo or a pasted list can.
A day at the block, with BlockWorks
One order, from the chef's message to the money.
The order comes in
The Red Lion's chef sends a WhatsApp. By the time you're in, it's a draft order at their prices, waiting to be confirmed.
The prep sheet
Every order for the day added up: 36 sirloin at 10oz, 18kg mince, and who each one is for, by round if you like.
Packing
Packers weigh as they pack, on a phone or tablet. Real weights and lot numbers go straight onto the order, and the office sees it packed.
The vans go out
Each driver opens their round on their own phone: drops in order, delivery windows, a button to navigate. It keeps working with no signal.
Delivered
The chef's tracking link says two drops before theirs. At the door, the driver takes a name, a signature and a photo.
Invoiced
Invoices go out at the weights packed, by email, and into Xero, or as a file for Sage 50.
The numbers
Margin on every order, and profit by customer and product after what each delivery cost.
Built for how butchers actually sell
General ordering software makes meat fit its boxes. BlockWorks starts from the cutting room.
Each, kilo or box
The same sirloin sold by the piece to one kitchen, by the kilo to another and by the box to a third. Sold each, invoiced at the real weight.
Every customer's own prices
Price bands, fixed prices and deals with an end date. Customers only ever see their own prices.
Margin before you price
Put in your cost and see the margin as you type the price, on products, orders and every line.
A recall in seconds
Lot numbers from the delivery you bought in to the customer you sold to. Type a lot and see everyone it reached.
